Deputy Chief Tim Hodges commands the YPD Field Services Bureau, which is the largest bureau in the Yonkers Police Department
Field Services Bureau members have the most direct contact with the public.
It encompasses the four police patrol precincts.
Deputy Chief Tim Hodges is highly regarded in the community for his openness and strong focus on community out reach.
And because of Yonkers growth there is talk of a fifth precinct to further drive down crime in the city of hills.
The Yonkers Gun Tip Hotline is a successful program that was created by Deputy Chief Tim Hodges.
Deputy Chief Tim Hodges also heads the Crisis Negotiation Team in which team members are available to respond to situations that may arise that require special training and expertise,
In particular, training that involves problem resolution and psychological
tactics aimed at convincing a subject involved to resolve the situation peacefully.
The Crisis Negotiation Team is urged to always keep three key components in mind when encountering a subject: Persuade, change and influence.
The Crisis Negotiation Team on average negotiates 10 to 12 times per year and has a high success rate
