Brendan McGrath serves as the Yonkers’ top watchdog, overseeing independent audits and investigations to insure the integrity of city conduct.

He brought a career of dedicated service on behalf of Yonkers at the state, county and city levels of government
Previously, Brendan McGrath served as Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City of Yonkers.
Previously, he served as Counsel in the Office of the Westchester County Attorney and New York State Assembly, and as Deputy Westchester County Clerk.
In addition to his professional background, Brendan McGrath has served as a member of the Westchester County Domestic Violence Council, Yonkers Truancy Reduction Committee, and is active in many community organizations such as Hillcrest Lakers Community Club, Annunciation Parish CYO and the Fordham Prep Fathers’ Club.
Brendan McGrath is responsible for addressing fraud, abuse and corruption in the City of Yonkers and ensuring accountability of taxpayer dollars.
His appointment and later a 2018 re-appointment required the confirmations of the Yonkers City Council.
Each appointment allows McGrath to serve a five year term.
His 2113 appointment followed the expiration of the term of Kitley Covill who had fulfilled the remaining two years of a five-year term vacated by former Inspector General Dan Schorr in 2012.
McGrath lives in Yonkers with his wife and two children.
